Cliff’s Testimony of Salvation:

I grew up in a home where my parents were divorced when I was a young child, my mom remarried, and my family began looking for a church.  We started to attend Calvary Baptist Church in Parkertown, New Jersey.  It was there I learned that I was a sinner, that God loved me and sent His son Jesus who died on the cross for me and rose again from the dead three days later, and that I needed Him to receive forgiveness.  At the age of eight, my Children’s Church teacher invited us to stay after class if we wanted to accept Christ as our Savior.  I stayed after class and she went through the gospel again with me.  I put my trust in Jesus Christ on that summer afternoon.

Alison’s Testimony of Salvation:

I grew up in a home where although my father did not attend church, I’m very thankful that my mother took us to church faithfully.  When I was five years old I attended a nearby church’s Vacation Bible School.  It was through the teacher’s lesson on Adam & Eve that I realized I was a sinner in need of Jesus and stayed after to talk to the teacher about placing my faith in the Lord as my Savior.

Growth in the Lord:

I continued to grow in the Lord through my local church.  I was involved in AWANA, Sunday School, Sunday Services, and Youth Group.  At the age of 13 I surrendered to serve the Lord wherever He would choose to lead me.  I learned to serve the Lord in the local church in a variety of areas from cleaning to music to teaching.  I had the opportunity to go on a few missions trips during high school and college.  I felt the Lord was directing me toward full time ministry and attended Cedarville University where I received an education in Youth Ministry and World Missions.  Upon graduation I came on staff at Crossroad Baptist Church in New Carlisle, Ohio where we served for 10 years.  I have been involved in a variety of areas of ministry including directing and overseeing the youth ministry, overseeing the music program, preaching, leading missions trips, directing Vacation Bible School, and a number of other things.

I had the opportunity to grow up in the same church, Norton Baptist Church in Norton, Ohio, from nursery up till I left for college.  After placing my trust in the Lord, I continued to grow in my walk with the Lord.  I learned how to serve the Lord in my local church.   I served five summers at a church camp, Skyview Baptist Ranch, working in the areas of kitchen help, craft shop manager, barn staff, and counseling.  I remember surrendering my future to the Lord for fulltime service when I was in middle school.  Since my marriage to Cliff in 2001, we have enjoyed serving the Lord together.  I have been involved in serving in the nursery, junior church, teen ministry, Vacation Bible School, and serving as the secretary for several years.

Our Call to the Mission Field:

We have always had a passion for the lost and for missions. Since our wedding in 2001, we served together in youth ministry at Crossroad Baptist Church in New Carlisle, Ohio.  Through the years, God has provided opportunities for us to experience missions through several short-term trips to the USA, Romania, Hungary, Peru, Portugal, and England.  God used each trip to impress on our hearts His desire for us to serve Him on the foreign mission field in the future. During a youth conference in January of 2006, we were challenged about the great need for youth workers overseas. After prayer and counsel, it was confirmed in our hearts that the Lord wanted to use us to help meet this need.  Cliff had the opportunity to serve in England with the ABWE team during his college internship. They were praying specifically for a youth worker to join their team. We visited England in October 2006 and realized that God was leading us to partner with this team to reach the British people with the Gospel.  We were appointed as missionaries with ABWE in July of 2007 and arrived on the field in October 2011.  We are excited to see what the Lord is going to do in and through our family and are humbled that He would choose us to take His message of hope to England.
